Food for Thought

Last night Alicia and I ended up in Covent Garden in London looking for somewhere to eat. We remembered that we had previously seen a long queue outside a vegetarian place on Neal Street. We had no idea what the place was like but figured that there wouldn’t be a large queue unless it was at least half decent. At just after 5pm, there was no queue and we walked straight in to “Food for Thought”.

The restaurant is strictly vegetarian and you can either eat-in or take away. With no guarantee that you get a table to yourself, you could find yourself sharing tables (something we Londoners need to do a lot more of). Anyway, the food was great; well presented, reasonably sized portions of some of nicest vegetarian food I’ve had in a while. The menu is short and simple but provides enough variety to cater for most people. Two main meals and a salad were only £11. Adding an extremely large plate of strawberry & banana scrunch and two “normal” teas brought the total to just over £15. Who said you couldn’t get good, reasonably priced food in the centre of London.

I will definitely be going back. But it does seem popular, so I would recommend visiting just before peak eating hours.
