Bourne Park, Ipswich
On Saturday, Alicia and I set off in the vague direction of Bourne Park. We didn’t know exactly where it was or what we would find there, but we ended up having a great afternoon. Bourne Park seems to be bordered by a number of nature reserves, new forest plantations, and wildlife sanctuaries. If you can ignore the occasional smell of sewage as you pass downwind of the water treatment plant or the never-ending drone of motorbikes racing round an invisible circuit, you can do worse than spend a Saturday afternoon wandering around Bourne Park and the surrounding area.
Not being one to stray too far from some gadget or other, I made made my first serious attempt at geotagging our photos. I wasn’t able to find a simple “one-click” solution and the whole process still involves too many individual pieces of software. That said, I still intend to tag as many of my future photos as possible. Once I settle on a method, I’ll document the process here so you can all have a go. In the meantime, have a look at the photos from our walk and, of course, don’t forget to take a look at the maps.

So, can you tag all our holiday photos for us? We’ve got thousands
I assume you are asking me to tag them all by hand, so I’ll have to pass on the offer. I would suggest that you download Picasa and import all your photos. I haven’t found anything else that makes captioning photos bearable. As for location, select all the photos from a similar location and tag them using Google Earth (Ogle Earth has a good guide).
Whatever method you choose it’s going to take a while. I’m hoping to perfect a reliable method before I go to China.
