The idea behind the concerts at Kenwood is that you turn up with a picnic and/or bottle of wine and sit by the lake and enjoy the performance.

As usually we bought way too much food, just the right amount of alcohol and even managed to find room for an extra flask of oolong tea.

We had seats on the deck chars so had the option of sitting back and just enjoying the music, but it didn’t take long before all though of relaxing in the deck chairs was lost and the crowd was up on its feet. The concert itself was brilliant and there is now way any grainy YouTube footage would do the atmosphere justice so those of you who haven’t heard the Rythm & Blues Orchestra will have to make do with these audio only links (spotify, last.fm).

If you are in London during the summer months, I highly recommend attending one of the Kenwood concerts for a fun, and yet relaxing night out.
